Dial up to Disconnect
As of this week, subscribers to the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority’s (CyTA) landline telephone service can simply dial up a special number to disconnect and reconnect their phone at any time of their choosing.
By dialing 8000-7676 either, domestically or abroad (+375 8000 7676) subscribers can disconnect or re-connect as they see fit so that they not be charged for the time their phone is offline but wish to keep their phone number active.
This is a money-saving service geared towards customers who only spend a few months each year at their vacation homes.
The maximum length of time a line can remain disconnected without a costumer having to pay a monthly subscription charge is six months from each calendar year.
The service is available only for analogue land-line (not to ISDN subscribers) belonging to natural persons who aren’t subscribers to special discount packages.
The service is also not offered to lines on which either I-choice or miVision are installed.
The fee of 50 cents applies for each re-connection.
Disconnection is offered free of charge.
