St. Lazarus Church - Plateia Agios Lazarou St. Lazarus church was built to enshrine the tomb of Lazarus, who according to legend, was expelled from Bethany, after his resurrection and forced into a boat that brought him to Kiti. Here he met with the Apostles and became Bishop of Kition before dying his second death. In 890 AD the saint's remains were discovered and removed.
The Larnaca District Museum - Plateia Kalogreon Houses a rich collection of antiquities from Larnaca and its surrounding district.
The Pierides Museum - 4 Zinonos Kiteos St. Contains a unique archaeological, mediaeval, post-Byzantine and Cypriot fork art collections gathered by five consecutive generations of the family. It also exhibits an old arsenal and a rich collection of old chartography of Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Fort of Larnaca - Larnaca seafront Erected in 1625 by the Turks. This fort is now a museum and its inner courtyard is used as an open-air garden-theatre during the summer months.
The Old Aqueduct - Kamares area on the Larnaca-Limassol road Known as "The Kamares" is situated outside the town towards Limassol. It was built in 1745 in Roman style to carry water from a source about 6 miles south of
Larnaca into the town.
Municipal Art Gallery - Plateia Evropis - seafront promenade Now open to five old customs stores of Neogothic architecture that date back to the early years of British rule in the late 19th century.
The Ruins of the Ancient City of Kition - 500m northeast of the Archaeological Museum Date back to the 13th century B.C. and was rebuilt by Archaen Greeks in 1200BC. Of interest are the remains of the Cyclopean Walls, made of giant blocks and the complex of the five temples.
Larnaca Promenade A seaside promenade lined with tall palm trees is one of Larnaca's distinctive features. It is bordered by taverns and a sandy beach and is very popular with local people.
The Larnaca Salt Lake - Near Larnaca Airport During the winter it gets filled up with water and is visited by flocks of flamingos that migrate from November until the end of March.
The Phaneromeni Church An underground chapel located on the way to the Airport. It is a rock cavern with two chambers. The structure suggests that it was a pagan tomb once, dating back to Phoenician times. It is believed the place is of magical properties. Those who suffer from headaches or other diseases walk three times round it and leave a piece of clothing or a clump of their hair.
