Archbishopric (Old and New) - Plateia Arch. Kyprianou Center of the Cyprus Orthodox Church, the new Archbishopric was built in a Neo-Byzantine style in 1960. The Old Archbishopric houses the Ethnographic museum of Cyprus.
Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation Located within the Venetian walls of Nicosia in the historical quarter of the Phaneromeni Church. Includes a lecture hall a cafeteria and an exhibition hall.
Chrysaliniotissa Multicraft Centre - Ipponaktos and Dimonaktos The center is located in the walled city and has eight workshops. Several young artisans engaged in silver-smithing, glass blowing, stained glass production, woodcarving, doll making, etc.
Cyprus Museum - 1 Mouseiou Ave. Priceless and fascinating collection of Cypriot antiquities and treasures from the Neolithic Age to the early Byzantine period.
Cyprus Jewelers Museum - 7-9 Praxippou St. A display of traditional jewelry from the end of 19th - 20th century. The exhibits include ornaments, religious items, silver utensils and old tools. The Nicosia Municipal Arts Center - 19 Apostolou Varnavas St. The old Power House has been transformed into a center for contemporary art. It hosts prestigious exhibitions from home and abroad.
Cyprus Postal Museum - 3B Agiou Savva St. Collection of Cyprus stamps from 1800 onwards. These stamps, classified internationally amongst the best, are of significant value in world philately.
Chrysaliniotissa Church - Within walking distance of the Archbishopric The oldest Byzantine church in Nicosia and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and covered with gold. It is reputed for its rich collection of old and rare icons.
Famagusta Gate - Municipal Cultural Center - Athinon St. The strongest and most elaborate but also the lowest if the three gates. The outstanding and impressing feature of this building is the arched passage gateway.
Kasteliotissa (Medieval Hall) - Opposite Paphos Gate This hall with its strong gothic elements was once part of a Lusignan Palace which dates back to the 13th-14th centuries.
Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage - 51 Stasinou, Agia Paraskevi, Bank of Cyprus Headquarters The history of Cyprus from the time coins were first imprinted, 2600 years ago. The presentation begins with coinage from the Cyprus City Kingdom (6th-4th centuries BC) and ends with the Republic of Cyprus (1960 - to present).
Laiki Yitonia - Pedestrian area within the walled city, east of Plateia Eleftherias. Laiki Yitonia is the heart and soul of the walled city. An attraction for both locals and foreigners to entertain themselves and do they're shopping in the narrow and picturesque streets of the neighborhood.
Museum of Natural History A rich variety of preserved animals and birds, like lion, tiger, eagle etc. Also a country stable with a variety of local animals, take birds and others.
Makarios Cultural Foundation - Plateia Arch. Kyprianou 1) The European Art Gallery - presents 120 oil paintings of various European schools of art of the 16th until 19th century 2) The Greek Independence War Gallery - features maps, copper engravings and paintings from people and events relating to the Greek Independence War. 3) The Byzantine Art Museum - presents the largest collection of icons on Cyprus with 220 pieces from periods 5th to the 19th century.
Omeriye Mosque - Trikoupis St. & Tillirias Square Near the main Municipal Market within the walled city. Converted into a mosque in 1571 by Mustapha Pasha, who believed that the original 14th century Augustinian church of St. Mary was built on the spot where prophet Omer rested when visiting Nicosia.
Phaneromeni Church - Onasagorou Street, within in the old city Is the largest church within the city walls was built in 1872 on the site of an ancient Greek-orthodox nunnery.
St. Kassianos Church This precious relic is a silver helmet believed to have been used by St. Kassianos. Holds also a gilt covered gospel of St. John the Divine, in Greek, printed in Venice in 1781.
St. John Cathedral Church - Plateio Arch. Kyprianou (within the Archbishopric area) Built in 1662 by Archbishop Nikiforos. The 18th century wall paintings illustrate biblical scenes.
St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral - Lordou Vyronos St. This parish church for Anglican residents was built in 1893 in a style reminiscent of many English village churches.
The Cyprus Folk Art Museum Society of Cypriot Studies - Plateio Arch. Kyprianou The main folk art and ethnographic Museum in Cyprus. Presenting masterpieces of weaving, embroidery, lace, costumes, pottery, folk painting etc.
The House of Hadjigeorghakis Kornesios - 20 Patriarchou Grigoriou St. (near the Archbishopric) A traditional urban architecture of the 18th century it was the residence of Dragonman to the Port, Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios.
The Handicrafts Center (Athalassa) - 186 Athalassas St. The Cyprus Handicraft center provides items of all kinds of traditional handicrafts. It is an excellent opportunity to buy Cypriot handicrafts and also watch the traditional art skills and techniques of the artisans.
The Leventis Museum - 17 Ippokratous St. (near Laiki Yitonia) The city's historical museum with exhibits dating since 3.900 BC up to present day. Periodical exhibitions are held in the Museum.
The Municipal Theatre - Mouseiou St. (opposite the Cyprus Museum) A neoclassical style spacious theatre that seat 1200 persons. Continuous program of events throughout the year.
The Museum of Liberation Struggle - Plateia Arch. Kyprianou (Near the Archbishopric) Photos, documents and other memorabilia of the National Liberation Struggle in 1955-1959.
Tripiotis Church - 47-49 Solonos St. near Laiki Yitonia Founded in 1695 and dedicated to Archangel Michael. It has an impressive interior with silver and gold covered panels separating the High Altar from the body of the church.
The Old City The Old City of Nicosia is surrounded by a complete circular wall, built by the Venetians between 1567 and 1570. The Old City is captivating, with narrow streets, inner yards, churches, mosques and Byzantine arches.
